We were unwilling to pay the hefty price to have a sprinkler system installed so I'm doing it myself. The clay soil is mind boggling. Little wonder there is a brick factory nearby. Maybe we could take up pottery.

Driveway Rocks 05-05-2010
We had one more load of rocks delivered to complete the gravel driveway. A friend's tractor with a box blade will spread that out nicely, just like it did the topsoil.
Almost Ready 05-02-2010
Here's a nice picture of the entryway in the late afternoon. The house is almost ready. Some trim work and touchup painting is all that's left.
Central Vacuum 05-01-2010
The central vacuum cleaner installation was completed. We're quite impressed with the unit so far. All the dust and dirt are carried to the garage. Nothing is recirculated in the house. It all gets sucked right out.
Topsoil and Carpet 04-28-2010
Some of the front yard doesn't drain correctly and has some ruts. We had some soil brought in to level things up and correct the drainage. The sidewalk has cured and looks good. The flooring company also arrived and installed the carpet.
Sidewalk and Garage Pad 04-27-2010
The concrete guys that poured the foundation came back and added a sidewalk and a short driveway pad outside the garage door.
Plumbing Finished 04-25-2010
The plumbers came back and finished out the plumbing. Here are two examples.
Garage Door 04-23-2010
We were finally able to get a garage door installed. We're thinking of painting it green. A white door would stand out too much and detract from the subtle contrasts of the trim.
